The relaxed yet elegant weathered charm of the Hamptons provided us with the stylistic inspiration for our styled photo shoot. Our chosen site, The Villa on Lake Georgetown, is Texas-true with the grace of the Hamptons touching every amenity. The site is complete with an expansive view of Lake Georgetown, a swanky infinity pool and a variety of fabulous spaces both indoors and out.
Design: Our design team coupled The Villa’s style with our vision for a chic Hamptons-comes-to-Texas event. The palette was pulled straight from the beach: subdued tones of stormy sea foam, warm sand and ivory sand dollars. The custom fabric-layered canopy billowed in the breeze with a dance that matched the sparkle and charm of the twinkling chandelier. Lush floral tiebacks with garden roses, peonies, succulents and dusty miller topped off the ceremony tent.
Lounge furniture and a couple of Adirondack chairs reminiscent of beach house decks were juxtaposed against fine antique upholstered furniture with casual beach elements. A milk glass pitcher filled with a gorgeous bouquet added a pop of color on a small side table. Linens over an antique crate added additional seating. Textured ivory programs layered into iridescent, sea foam cardstock topped with chocolate-colored ribbon sat on a low antique bench.
Reception: Guests dined at a ten-foot-long table featuring sand pintuck taffeta linens topped with a custom vintage “boardwalk”. A center tabletop display of beach sand, sand dollars, starfish shells, sea glass bottles, lush hydrangea, dahlias and succulents gave a strong punch of excitement to a ten-foot long piece of natural driftwood. Chargers, mixed china, and silk menus aligned with linen napkins holding individual white roses and the iridescent sea foam textured ivory place cards. Individually strung glass bubbles and crystals suspended from the ceiling created an elegant underwater effect.
Dessert table: An antique dressing table topped with an oval mirror reflected the delicious goodies while open drawers spilled blooms down the front. Pearls, vintage luggage and containers completed the display. The dessert bar was lush with green apple sour straws, a rock candy bouquet, chocolate wafers, saltwater taffy, chocolate-covered pretzels, whoopie pies, custom sugar cookies, powdered doughnuts, and key lime pie shooters.
